Did you miss National Tell A Joke Day? . – ..Well I did!  Miss National Tell A Joke Day, that is; .Boo on me!  If there’s anything I appreciate its a good joke.; ..what else could have gotten me through 45 years in ‘The Biz’ (the Showbiz, that is) but a sense of humor????  So I am really, really sorry to have missed National Tell A Joke Day, which was last week. – .. : august 16th.  So here, a little belatedly, I salute National Tell A Joke Day with…what else?…a few more Groaners, i.e; .World’s Best Bad jokes:

1.What do clouds wear under their clothes?  Thunderwear.

2.What’s an archeologist?  Someone whose career is in ruins.

3.Ever since my friend had all the digits amputated from her feet, I find her very annoying – .I think I might be lack-toes intolerant.

4.Our local Catholic church has plans to bring its parishioners to services by bus; .They plan to call it mass transit.

5 – .Did you hear the one about the man who dreamed he was a muffler on a car, and then that he was part of the wheel? He woke up exhausted and tired.

And last, but not least….

6; .How do two snails settle their differences? They slug it out.

So have a good week, fellow jokesters….a laugh a day keeps the doctor away!

Zantac Prevacid

by Judith Drake

Are you as old as me?  If so, you’ll remember the days when stand-up comics and comedy teams were really funny, and not using the shock factor, or the F-word every 30 seconds, but actually using real words well!  Remember Rodney Dangerfield, Alan King, Jan Murray, Joey Bishop, Phyllis Diller, Martin & Lewis; zantac prevacid.and lots, lots more?  Now they were funny!!!

What brought this up you might ask?  It was one of those hundreds of e-mails all of us get daily…friends forwarding this and that.  But this one reminded me just how good comedians used to be at using the English language.  Here…let me share a few of them with you and you’ll see what I mean:

“I just got back from a pleasure trip.  I took my mother-in-law to the airport.”

“Someone stole all my credit cards but I won’t be reporting it.  The thief spends less than my wife did.”

“We always hold hands.  If I let go, she shops.”

“The doctor gave me six months to live.  I couldn’t pay my bill, so he gave me another six months.”

“The doctor called Mrs; zantac prevacid.Cohen saying zantac prevacid, “Mrs. Zantac prevacid: cohen, your check came back”.- Mrs; zantac prevacid. Zantac prevacid: cohen answered, “So did my arthritis!’”

“A drunk was in front of a judge.  The judge says ‘You’ve been brought in here for dirinking.’  The drunk says, “Okay, let’s get started.”

“What’s the difference between a Rottweiler and a Jewish mother?  The Rottweiler eventually lets go.”

“I’ve been in love with the same woman for 49 years.- If my wife ever finds out, she’ll kill me!”

“What are three words a woman never wants to hear when she’s making love?  ‘Honey I’m home.’

I know, I know, lots of important things going on in the world…but no harm in stopping a second for a bit of nostalgia and a laugh or two.  A tip of my hat, should I ever wear one, to those wonderful comedians of yore who always brightened my day.

Buy Viagra Online

by Judith Drake

Ever wonder what it’s like to do something unusual, different, weird, fun, or just plain silly, that you’ve never done before?

Well this July/August issue of MORE Magazine has a fun article telling the stories of several women who’ve done just that – buy viagra online. They include, among others: a small Chinese woman who turned a first-time entry (and win!) in a competitive eating contest into a semi-career, traveling as a family and entering 10 or 12 competitions a year; the first woman (with asthma, no less!) to swim around Manhattan – and she was 6 hours faster than the only man who has done it; the founder of the Evergreen/Conifer Tea Party; a mother and daughter who started writing a sex-advice column; and others with stories just as interesting.

Go grab the July/August edition and read all their stories yourselves…maybe it’ll give some of you the courage to jump in and do something you’ve been thinking about for years!

Online Viagra

by Judith Drake

Let’s give a cheer to TV Land!  Obviously one of the few television networks to realize the intelligence, not to mention the shear fun, of putting a group of fantastic actresses over 50 to work.  What do you get?  You get a great, extremely experienced, never-miss-a-laugh cast who loves performing and gives us, the audience, a delightful respite from our dreary day.

Valerie Bertinelli, 50 (One Day at a Time); Jane Leeves, 49 (Frasier); Wendie Malick, 59 (Just Shoot me!); and, of course, Betty White (I Love Lucy, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls).  How can you lose???!!!!  You can’t, of course.  “Hot In Cleveland”, shot live with multiple cameras and an audience, brings back traditional, old-fashioned (and that’s a good thing!) TV comedy, and I, for one, am glad to see it.

I hope all of you tune in “Hot In Cleveland” on TV Land every Wednesday at 10:00 pm and show them just how happy you are with them.  And let’s hope some of those big, nose-in-the-air networks see and understand what they’ve missed and start taking advantage of more or our older-but-better actresses themselves – online viagra.- We can only hope!

Accessrx

Today on the Tomatoes In the Trenches Blog Talk Radio Show  http://www.blogtalkradio.com/tomatoesinthetrenches we had the distinct pleasure of speaking with Roger Nygard, the filmmaker behind the new documentary, THE NATURE OF EXISTENCE.

Roger was very smart, witty, charming, articulate and thought provoking as we picked his brain about THE NATURE OF EXISTENCE, or “The Mysteries of Human Existence – Explained in One Movie!”  The film and its tone reflect Roger’s personality.  Accessrx: he is able to delve into a very serious topic with both a sense of whimsy and poignancy. The questions about the purpose of our lives and the nature of God have been the focus of other films but as tomatoes with very little time on our hands and very little room in our brains, this film is the perfect vehicle to explore and ponder these issues in a reasonable amount of time and in a remarkably insightful and entertaining way.

The film opens your mind to the vast range of beliefs and religions and unique people out there in our large universe; accessrx. Accessrx: the film is of course a springboard for further thought and contemplation, but it allows you to do it with a lighter heart.

I’m not the only one who feels this way:

Mark Deming from the New York Times All Movie Guide describes THE NATURE OF EXISTENCE “as a witty, thought provoking and often surprising study in the greatest mysteries of life.”

“Buy two tickets; you’ll want to see The Nature of Existence again. The documentary is a humorous but not mocking; earnest but not gullible attempt to answer unanswerable questions like Why am I here? Is There A God? the nature of sin, truth, prayer, religion, what about sex, what is morality, what is the soul? Director Roger Nygard (Trekkies) entertains and makes you think at the same time.” RICHARD LANOIE
 , The Reviews Page

“…he maintains an amused equanimity about and deep respect for those whom he interviews… encompassing ancient and modern belief systems, laws, politics and religion, which should lead to an interesting discussion after the closing credits.”
 SUSAN GRANGER,
New York Film Critics Online

Check out the Tomatoes In the Trenches Show  http://www.blogtalkradio.com/tomatoesinthetrenches and it will whet your appetite to see the film and you will also learn a lot from director, producer, editor and writer Roger Nygard.

THE NATURE OF EXISTENCE will kick off its theatrical release opening in New York this coming June 18 and will follow with an opening in Los Angeles on July 2nd with many more cities welcoming the film.

To find out where the film will be playing in a theatre near you go to the film’s website:  THE NATURE OF EXISTENCE.

Online Pharmacy Viagra

by Jan Bina

On our June 2, Tomatoes in the Trenches Blog Talk Radio Show, we had the delightful experience of interviewing actor, Bryan Batt, of Mad Men fame. This show is archived at http://www.inthetrenchesproductions.com and at http://www.thethreetomatoes.com.

The occasion for the interview was his recently published memoir, She Ain’t Heavy, She’s My Mother. As summer beckons us to hopefully oil free beaches online pharmacy viagra, this book would be an excellent choice to launch your summer reading. It is on Janet Maslin’s The New York Times Best Beach Chair Reading List; online pharmacy viagra. Online pharmacy viagra: unlike many family memoirs, this one is upbeat and full of hilarious anecdotes as well as many heart-warming and touchingly poignant experiences.

This book is Bryan’s account of growing up gay below the Mason-Dixon Line during the 60’s and 70’s as well as about his life as an actor. But most of all online pharmacy viagra, it is a tribute to his lively, colorful mother, Gayle Batt, who seems like she’s stepped right out of a Tennessee William’s play, but without the neuroses of his characters. Online pharmacy viagra: gayle is a charmer with a backbone of steel who does not crumble when adversity strikes. Her philosophy is to never give up, a lesson that has served Bryan very well throughout his life – online pharmacy viagra. She gave Bryan her unconditional love and support and it is his belief that she taught him everything he knows about being a man.

No interview with Bryan Batt would be complete without discussing his character Sal Romano, the closeted ad executive on Mad Men. Bryan recalls his audition experience online pharmacy viagra, which only proves that if you’re meant to play a particular part, no matter what obstacles are in the way, somehow that role will be yours. He certainly has made the character of Sal indelible and we hope indispensable. Online pharmacy viagra: as fans of the show recall, at the end of the season, Sal was fired by Dan Draper. Will Sal be back? We can only hope. Do we need to start a Facebook campaign? Bring back Sal!

Bryan is not only an actor and writer, but he also owns a gift and accessory shop with his partner of 20 years, Tom Cianfichi – online pharmacy viagra. The shop is called Hazelnut, located in New Orleans. But you don’t have to be in New Orleans to shop at Hazelnut – online pharmacy viagra. You can shop on line through their website: http://www.hazelnutneworleans.com; online pharmacy viagra. As I perused the website I tried not to swoon too much. Everything is a beautifully unique, one of a kind item; online pharmacy viagra. Online pharmacy viagra: bryan and Tom truly have exquisite taste. For some eye-candy online pharmacy viagra, do check out the site.

But the best reason to listen to this show is to be entertained. Online pharmacy viagra: bryan is a witty raconteur and a true Southern Gentleman. Online pharmacy viagra: so, tune in, sit back with a martini or your favorite libation and simply enjoy the show!
