Order Allegra

by Order allegra: yana Berlin

What can be worse than breaking up with your first love?

Think back to that magical first time you fell in love.  Remember the butterflies in your stomach, the sparkle in your eyes, and the stupid smile on your face?  How even 10 minutes apart from your newfound love could seem like an eternity?  How the act of holding hands could make you feel like the most special person on the planet?

Now fast-forward a few weeks, a month, or perhaps even years ahead, and what happened?  You broke up and went your separate ways, most likely never to see each other again.

Nothing prepared you for the pain, the tears and the emptiness that ensued.  The smile vanished from your face, the sparkle left your eyes, and all you had left was a big, empty hole in your stomach.

Remember how it felt like the end of the world, like nothing could ever hurt that badly again?  Well, here it is 25 years later and you realize that the pain you felt then cannot even remotely be compared to what you’re going through now.

What on earth could possibly be worse then breaking up with the love of your life?  The answer is simple—it’s watching your child break up with the first love of her life.

You know that it almost doesn’t matter what you say in order to make her feel better.  You remember (even if it was a quarter of a century ago) how your own mother consoled you and promised that the pain would go away and you would love again.  You remember how you spent hours crying yourself to sleep, wishing that it was all just a dream.  And you recall that it took time, and many dates later, to realize that life wasn’t over and the best was yet to come.

Most of all, you want to wave a magic wand to take the pain away and make everything all right.  Instead, you rock your “baby’ in your arms, bite your tongue, and try not to say all the things that seem right and necessary, the same words of wisdom your own mother had for you.  You hold her tightly and hope that her pain will subside very quickly, and that you can provide the on-going support and open communication she needs at this time.

And as you sit there fighting to hold back your own tears, you take some comfort in the knowledge (borne from your own painful experience) that this is, after all, only a temporary condition.

All the best,
Yana

Allegra Effects Side

by Joyce Mason

“Edie” turns 100 at the end of this month.She is not happy about it.

My brother-in-law’s mom is a total character.Twenty years ago, I suspect she was like Grandma Mazur in the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich. Allegra effects side: in her youth, she was surely Auntie Mame.

Until recently, Edie had all her wits about her, but she has been complaining most of the decade I have known her, “I don’t know what the hell I’m still doing here.” Then she goes on a monologue grumbling to God, who apparently doesn’t know what He’s doing.

She’s actually in great health, overall, except her teeth are wearing out.She is outliving them.Her 75-year-old son says all the time, “She’s in better shape than I am.I swear; she’ll outlive me.” Teeth allegra effects side, sons—she leaves them in the wake of more longevity than the Energizer Bunny.

Edie has lost nearly all of her extended family, although she is fortunate to have her two adult children nearby. Allegra effects side: they spend what time they can with her, and she’s in a lovely board and care home that could pass for yours or mine.In fact, it looks a lot better than mine.Her room is spotless, and she loves to show off her trinkets and treasures when we visit; allegra effects side.That’s about as excited as she gets about anything these days, although I hear coffee ice cream also gets a rise out of her.

I don’t know—but I suspect—her boredom with life has finally taken its toll, probably more a cause for deterioration than age itself.I can’t remember when she last had something to sink her teeth into, which may be why they are weakening.Sure allegra effects side, she likes seeing her daughter, son, granddaughter, and great-grandkids … but her spark has gone out.

I’ll never forget the day we first met.At the time, my husband and I were living together, not married.That made me suspect for starters.After her grand entrance, Edie took a piercing look at me—a head to toe evaluation.She announced allegra effects side, “My name is Edith.You can call me Edie – allegra effects side.I ask a lot of questions.You’ll get used to it.”

Fortunately, I had been warned about her and was braced for her blunt nosiness – allegra effects side.I came to be more amused than annoyed by her pointed inquiries; and she became very fond of me; allegra effects side.I made sure we did her many kindnesses allegra effects side, always remembering her on birthdays and major holidays. Allegra effects side: i thought she was a kick in the pants, still do, and can’t help but love her for all her rough edges and downright crusty nature.

This Christmas, though, she wasn’t her old self.She’s starting to slip – allegra effects side.“How old am I?” she asked me. Allegra effects side: apparently, she asks others family members the same thing all the time.

When I told her she was almost 100, it was as news to her.“I’m gonna be a hundred? I had no idea I was that old.I never thought I’d live that long.”

At first allegra effects side, Edie’s lack of enthusiasm about life was such an antithesis to my own lust for it, I had a hard time accepting her longing for death.She has a plot back East and her funeral arrangements all made.She can’t wait to keep the date; allegra effects side. Allegra effects side: i’ll miss her, but another part of me can’t help but hope she’ll get what she longs for.

Edie is my flip side.I constantly worry that I’ll run out of time before I can do what I really want to do – allegra effects side.I don’t mind dying; I just mind doing it before I feel finished; allegra effects side. Allegra effects side: edie is done.

Over the years, I began to understand and even honor her desire to die, regardless of the fact that, so far, God won’t have it.We’ve chanted all the clichés about how He’s not done with her yet – allegra effects side.They are not comforting.

Edie’s eyesight and hearing are fading. Allegra effects side: this was an eye-opener to me, no pun intended, considering I already have sensory challenges, and I’m forty years younger than Edie.Makes me wonder how I’d fare at 100.Further, it makes me wonder if I even want to belong to the Centenarian Club – allegra effects side. Allegra effects side: a lot of joy went out of Edie’s life along with the ability to read books.The audiocassette player and books on tape we got her didn’t appeal, even before her hearing worsened; allegra effects side.I’m sure I’d lose a lot of my spark without the stimulation of constant learning or entertainment.

This story may sound dreary allegra effects side, but I think Edie is telling us something about life. Allegra effects side: life without passion is empty.We see people all the time who are physically broken, even mentally or developmentally challenged, but as long as they are doing something they love, they are vital.A hundred would be glorious as long as I still have zest for living and reasonable health.Otherwise, I don’t think so.

Next time I hear the clock’s loud ticking toward a vague Running Out of Time, I’ll remember what I’ve learned from Edie – allegra effects side.She has helped me rethink things.

Maybe I don’t have to feel done before I die – allegra effects side.Better to have some mountains to climb allegra effects side, some passions still stirring, and a well-padded To Do List than to be done and have life left over.
~~~
Postcript: Since I wrote this piece in January 2008, Edie finally got her wish.She passed peacefully last spring at the age of 100. Allegra effects side: this is a tribute to her.
Effects Of Allegra
by Robin Gorman Newman
For better or worse, I feel like I’m living life in the fast lane….literally.
Last week a friend told me about Mercury Retrograde because I felt like things just weren’t going right in a wide variety of ways.
Well….this week, the universe continues to speak to me, and if I don’t listen, I need to get my hearing checked.
I’ve had a cough for a couple of weeks now that is keeping me up at night.It’s a dry cough, so I presumed it was allergies, post nasal drip or due to throat irritation from acid reflux – effects of allegra.My dad has a gastro doctor he really likes, who I’ve spoken to on his behalf on the phone, so I decided to make an appointment to see him.
He had a lovely bedside manner, and I felt very comfortable sharing my health history and what brought me to him; effects of allegra.After taking notes, he said let’s take a chest x-ray; effects of allegra.I haven’t had one in a number of years, so I thought fine, and didn’t expect anything.
I waited patiently for the results, and to my total shock, he told me I have pneumonia – effects of allegra.I never had pneumonia before; effects of allegra.How is that possible? Who knows!? But, it’s here. Effects of allegra: i don’t feel awful, and I always thought you would with pneumonia.He said not everyone is highly symptomatic.
So effects of allegra, I’m now on antibiotic and am so grateful that I didn’t dismiss my cough. Effects of allegra: goes to show you really need to know your own body.
Earlier this week, despite being ill, I was committed to attend a moms night out dinner for Motherhood Later in NY.It featured speaker Elaine Lerner on the subject of ADHD (http://www.adhdparenttrainer.com); effects of allegra. Effects of allegra: it was a very informative talk, and was enjoyable to spend time with mom peers, some of whom I met for the first time.
When the talk ended, I went to my Kia rent a car (You might recall that last week I was in a car accident, so my Camry is now in the shop…to be returned mid-next week.) and put my bags down on the hood while I said good-bye to a friend.We had to move our respective cars because we were blocking someone else; effects of allegra.We chatted a bit more and then took off for home, and when I got home, I had my pocketbook, but my tote bag was nowhere to be found – effects of allegra.I went crazy looking under the seats and all over, and drove frantically back to the restaurant, but no bag was turned in.I had my date book in there (which is my life), notes from the dinner talk, flyers, a CD, etc. Effects of allegra: luckily my phone and camera were with me, so it could have been way worse.I recognize.
On my way back home effects of allegra, upset and without my trusty tote, I decided to drive very slowly on the main road and I head past papers flying all over the lane. Effects of allegra: i pull over into a safe side area, jump out, and dodging cars, I pick up one piece of paper and see that it’s one of the Motherhood Later flyers from the meeting.I then look more closely and see my tote laying in the middle of the two way, four lane road, being run over by traffic – effects of allegra. Effects of allegra: i scurry to grab it and look anxiously to see what is inside.
I lost the notes from the meeting, and my pens and card case were smashed, but other than that, the bag itself and other items were totally intact.(It was a lesportsac.Boy are those things made of steel.And, they’ve created a new line for moms – effects of allegra.http://www.lesportsac.com/.)
Effects of allegra: i was in total disbelief that I even had this experience.
When I got home and looked back on last week, my tote bag incident, and now being under the weather, clearly it would seem that I need to get my act together in more ways than one.
What I came up with is this…
Slow down.Focus; effects of allegra. Effects of allegra: invite clarity into your life.Don’t we wedded to “stuff.” It’s just stuff, and we are not defined by our “stuff”.
Step back; effects of allegra.Get off the spinning hamster wheel.It never stops unless you make it.
None of this is easy for me – effects of allegra.I’m used to being a producer; effects of allegra.And, being a mom has complicated that equation; effects of allegra.I’m not entirely sure that we can have it all, though we/I try.It’s for sure a juggling act and one that can wear you out.( Effects of allegra: i wrote last week about being worn out.) My to-do list is full of both big stuff and minutia, and it’s a lot for anyone to handle.But effects of allegra, such is life, and it’s not unique to me.I hear so many talk about being busy, busy.
Part of it is time management; effects of allegra. Effects of allegra: for me, another part is de-cluttering.My house looks like a bomb hit it due to our basement construction; effects of allegra.But, in the next month or so, we will be done with it, and can work on inviting positive energy back into our home and lives; effects of allegra.We will purge and organize and create a system that ideally works for all of us.
A cluttered home leads to a cluttered brain leads to potential incidents such as the ones I’ve been having of late – effects of allegra. Effects of allegra: at least that’s my philosophy. Effects of allegra: i need to cut myself some slack.Take stock of what is truly important. Effects of allegra: practice self-care.And, not feel guilty if I take a break – effects of allegra.If not now effects of allegra, then when?!
A perpetually overtaxed mom isn’t good for anyone.
Could it be that the TV world is getting smart about ‘older’ actresses????  Have they finally come to the realization that older actresses, with all their experience and talent, have wonderful insights into their characters and can give fantastic and eagerly watched performances?  Are they one up on the Movie World high-rollers???  I think so, and I think it was proved the other night at the Emmy awards:
DRAMA SERIES LEAD ACTRESS: Glenn Close, 62.  (And most of her fellow nominees?  Sally Field, 62; Holly Hunter, 51; Mariska Hargitay, 45; Kyra Sedgwick, 44)
SUPPORTING ACTRESS COMEDY SERIES: Kristin Chenoweth, 41
SUPPORTING ACTRESS DRAMA SERIES: Cherry Jones, 52
GUEST ACTRESS DRAMA SERIES: The lovely 40+ Ellen Burstyn
You GO, Emmys!  And I look forward to next year, when even more of us 40+ ladies will be in the spotlight, hopefully.  And when the movie world catches on and joins you!
Augmentin Doses
Augmentin doses: the Granny Diaries by Adrienne Schoenfeld
Can life get anymore hysterical for Adrienne? She is spilling her fillings as a mom sandwiched between multiple slabs of crusty bread trying to keep the “oldies” from growing moldy.Attending daily to the grannies proves to be a test of strength and stamina, but yields tender moments that will move you to tears…and fits of laughter!
SUGAR FREE
Dear Diary,
How does the saying go? The best things in life are free? Well THAT explains why Granny Marnie is over the top thrilled at the moment.I don’t remember the last time I saw this much exuberance emanating from her. Augmentin doses: let me think..Oh wait. Augmentin doses: yes, I do remember the last time. Augmentin doses: she was at Whole Foods and they had inadvertently mismarked the canned tuna— five for $1 instead of one for $5 which, duh..obviously was an oversight.H-e-l-l-o? WHOLE FOODS? Phfeh.Marnie cruises up towards the checkout stand in her electric scooter filled with—maybe twenty-five, thirty cans full of organic premium un-mercurized goodness (and nothing else). Augmentin doses: thirtymph down the condiments aisle she zoomed inwardly chuckling all the way at her amazing good fortune.Wait.What’s THIS? SAMPLES! What’s a quick little side trip going to hurt? Marnie pulls a U turn practically knocking down a “real” elderly person..whooping and hollering all the way at warp speed to the Augmentin doses: guava Salsa with Tomato corn chips.
What exactly is the deal with samples? Marnie and I seem to disagree on the idea behind the bite size complimentary morsels that are handed out (on Fridays at WHOLE FOODS, Saturdays at COSTCO and M-F at Trader Joes).I feel that it’s not in the spirit of the concept to drive your scooter up to the table and while the girl is giving you all the 411 on those dainty Zesty Dill Spinach Souffle Pops (10 for$20)..you’re shoveling them into your mouth at lightening speed with not as much as a head nod that you’re pretending to listen to a word she’s saying.
As if that’s not bad enough (don’t think that I didn’t catch this) you say, “Now those cheese cubes over THERE (pointing across the store) would they be good to serve with these?” As she looks to where you’re pointing, you make a grab for like..ten more and shove them in the mouth before she turns back to you; augmentin doses.I thought it was pretty funny when you had them all shoved in your bulging cheeks and she followed up innocently with (as if you were a REAL customer) “Will you be serving them as an appetizer or main course?” Had a little problem answering that one didn’t cha? We had to sit and watch you chew for about five minutes before you would dare to open your mouth and then there was all the evidence stuck nastily between your teeth.
Let’s see..we hit the brownie table (where you got caught shoving a handful into your purse), the Karmel Korn table where you asked to take a cup home for your “children” and the LUNA Bar samples; augmentin doses. Augmentin doses: i thought it a tad presumptuous of you Marnie to ask for a sample of each (twenty-five flavors folks..2-5) so that you could see which one “grabbed you” because at “your age” one loses all ones appetite and becomes quite thin so it’s important to find one that really tastes good.
Tell one, tell all..KillJoy Assisted Living-motto: if it hasn’t been done-we’ll do it to you has just set up a..drum roll please – augmentin doses.Free cookies, fruit and tea station – augmentin doses. Augmentin doses: omg.Does facility living GET any better than that? Marnie is jumping up and down in her scooter seat and I’m getting a little concerned because this is more cardio than she’s had all year; augmentin doses.“Well it’s about time. Augmentin doses: i happen to know that Ruth’s (my MIL) place (Happy Daze Assisted Living) has been doing free cookies and bananas forever. Augmentin doses: why we haven’t had them over here really makes me wonder about the brains of the person running this “concern.”
Ruth loves her free cookies and bananas area downstairs at Happy Daze.We stop there everyday to fill up her pockets with bananas before returning to floor ROAM(dementia). Augmentin doses: it’s very interesting what long-term behaviors stay with us and which one’s vanish if we should have some “memory issues” like my MIL.Shoving free bananas (green foiled flat mint patties augmentin doses, toothpicks, Kleenex and tea bags) into a coat pocket is as automatic to Ruth as..as..um.Well— breathing.
Sometimes for fun I like to play a little game with Marnie called: Guess how much this costs? I start with a simple thing—a Venti size Chai Tea Latte.O.K Marnie; augmentin doses. Augmentin doses: how much did this set me back?
MARNIE: I’d have to say..and this is taking into account inflation..about $1.
Good guess scooter girl! But no cigar.BZZZZZZZZZ! WRONGO. Augmentin doses: would you believe $4!
MARNIE: Nooooooooo.That can’t be.I would never pay THAT for a cup of tea.Do YOU? In fact; augmentin doses..would you like a cup of tea dear? You know here—we get it for free; augmentin doses.How about a cookie to go with it? Do you need any packs of Sweet ‘n Low? Sugar?
I love the fact, My Sandwich Generation darlings that Granny Marnie thinks her nibbles are on the house; augmentin doses.If she knew how much those cookies and free tea really are costing her..c r i p e s.
I always encourage Marnie to enjoy as MUCH cookies as she wants.In fact– who needs cereal for breakfast? Nothing my friend(s) In life.Is free.
Augmentin
by Augmentin: robin Gorman Newman
I am worn out.
It’s that time of the month, and my 40-something hormones are whacked, so this was not expected.
Seth is being a total Dennis the Menace….or should I say vandal.
And, I got into a fender bender.
I was driving through town, as I do many days, enroute to TJ Maxx with a friend for a shopping jaunt.I was looking forward to a fun few hours; augmentin. Augmentin: my week has been consumed with carpet installation, inspectors, and painters.The main street in my town is in a constant state of gridlock, and today was no different.
As I approached a corner, two cars were stopped waiting to turn; augmentin.It was taking forever, so I endeavored to get around them – augmentin.I inched out, and as quickly as I did that, an SUV came careening behind me; augmentin.I didn’t see it augmentin, and it crashed into the right front side of my car.Totally took off my headlight and the surrounding hardware and part of the front bumper.
I called the police, and an accident report was filed – augmentin.The other driver took it in stride and basically said, “accidents happen.” I, on the other hand, felt it was his fault, and was very rattled about it; augmentin. Augmentin: i was grateful that no one was hurt, but it made me a bit nervous to drive (although we did still go to TJ). Augmentin: and, it’s made me all the more aware of how we can’t control others.I have always considered myself a safe, defensive driver, but still, accidents can happen; augmentin. Augmentin: i just have to accept that.Now we’ll have to deal with our insurance company.
Then, once I get home, I made a discovery in the living room; augmentin.Seth had decided to play Bob the Builder (or something like that) – augmentin. Augmentin: he removed (and destroyed) the hinges to our living room armoire and dropped them in the garbage, along with the screws.I happened to stumble upon the armoire that looked funny and realized the hinges were missing.On top of that, he decided to draw on the armoire with a pen, and denying doing any of it; augmentin.My husband had the lovely task of dumping out the kitchen garbage and rummaging through it; augmentin. Augmentin: amazingly, he found the hinges and screws, but is unable to put it back together.
Then, we discovered that Seth took Duco Cement and put it on the living room phone.What that was about, I have no clue.
Then, we discovered that he scrapped off some of the paint and spackle that was newly done in the hall and on his bedroom door.
I’ve never seen him go through such a totally destructive streak; augmentin.It left me completely speechless.
We took away his wallet (with allowance in it), threw out one of his pet fire trucks, took away tv and dessert tonite and told him that we have lost trust in him in our home – augmentin.And, that he now needs to work on gaining it back.
Just unreal.
I am worn out from it all.
This weekend is the Jewish Holiday, and I look forward to spending some quality time with family and friends.
I’d like to be able to put this week behind me and see Seth work on regaining our trust.I realize he’s only six augmentin, but he’s gotta make some concerted effort to make up for these actions.
Wishing all the Jewish families out there a very happy, and healthy!
Buspirone Dosage
Buspirone dosage: the Granny Diaries by Adrienne Schoenfeld
Can life get anymore hysterical for Adrienne? Gossip Girls
Dear Diary,
You know what’s just so COMPLETELY bizarre? No matter how old a person is they are still able to be total GOSSIPS – buspirone dosage.One would think that when your 82 years old and sitting in your recliner over at Happy Daze Assisted Living you’d have more pressing things to examine— than the “problematic” skin eruptions on your DIL’s facial regions and potential reasons for her sudden out break of “Echinacea” on her cheeks; buspirone dosage.Easily diagnosable you say – buspirone dosage..given the red splotchiness and cuz you heard all about it on TV (after Christy Brinkleys infomercial) and it’s easy to “identify” – buspirone dosage..with your old and TOTALY bitty sweet friends.
I’m so NOT going to mention any names to protect the innocent..but you know who you are: Jo buspirone dosage, Marion, Doris, Faye, Blanche, Marie.Oh and LEST we forget— RUTH (my MIL).Who, may I add..despite her slight (pffft..choke) cognitive FUNCTIONING impairments (dementia)..has not lost her great talent for spreading absolute falsehoods throughout her inner circle (unintentionally on purpose she claims). Buspirone dosage: why should I care? Only BECAUSE I have to be exposed to the trash talk pretty much..DAILY.Oh pleeze – buspirone dosage.I am beyond paranoid at this point..in case THAT’S what you’re thinking.In all fairness I have EVERY.RIGHT.TO. Buspirone dosage: be.  You try innocently walking into the dining hall and having all the “mukety muck” of dementia STARING at you because of a little PMS. Buspirone dosage: i came in the middle of, “poor thing..maybe nobody TAUGHT her to exfoliate”. Buspirone dosage: no doubt THERE..whom Marion was talking about,
“..and then I heard..I forget WHERE; buspirone dosage..she was even thinking that FOUNDATION might make her pore problem less v-i-s-i-b-l-e – buspirone dosage.Heh heh (all the girls sniggering in agreement); buspirone dosage. Buspirone dosage: as.If.”
Nice.Usually what I do if I walk in on this “group cluck” is shed some light on the topic and diffuse the potential for real damage to be done – buspirone dosage.I prefer to do this in a very non-threatening manner being that these are delicate seniors I’m dealing with and not HIGH SCHOOL mean girls – buspirone dosage..who’s only THRILL in life is to get me to burst into tears and hide in the bathroom.
“It’s PMS p-e-o-p-l-e; buspirone dosage.Back off.(sniff sniff) Why don’t you pick on one of your own for a; buspirone dosage..(voice breaking) a..(sob) cha-aaaa-ange?”
Marion looks up at me completely blank..pretending that she has no clue who I am – buspirone dosage.Ha. Buspirone dosage: nice try Marion.
“Hey. Buspirone dosage: come back here. Buspirone dosage: do we know you?”
RUTH: Everybody.THIS is my DIL.(peering into my..face) Buspirone dosage: what’s the matter with you?
ME: (cool and composed) Why would you THINK..there is ANYTHING WRONG WITH ME? oops. Buspirone dosage: who were you just talking about?
This is how I know I am the target of gossip.Ruth starts to get fidgety in her seat and pulls out the “I think I have to go find my room because I LEFT something there” routine; buspirone dosage.Marion announces she’s getting picked up in “FIFTEEN” by her mother and Blanche..the most CREATIVE of the bunch, feigns illness..commenting that she may have a touch of the Spanish flu.
“We were talking about..”(thinking..then giving up.) “You know what’s funny? I can’t remember what we were talking about.”
Sure granny – buspirone dosage.That’s a-l-w-a-y-s the excuse – buspirone dosage. Buspirone dosage: i know you were talking about ME and just for the record I think I look pretty drat good.Why don’t you talk about someone who really has problems? Like..WALTER – buspirone dosage.OMG – buspirone dosage.I could think of a MILLION points of interest with him.Feh – buspirone dosage. Buspirone dosage: you’ll be preoccupied from here until next freakin’ YEAR on discussing the length of his NOSE hair alone.
Uh oh.speak of the devil..
Buspirone dosage: hi Walt.I chirp, trying NOT to look at the Rapunzel length mane growing luxuriously from his nostrils.”
JO: Walter.Ruth’s DIL was just discussing you.
Hey you! Smirking girl in the floral print smock and knee-highs.This funny to you? Huh? And..YOU Jojo; buspirone dosage.Don’t be asking me to pluck those CHIN hairs of yours.The MOTHER PLUCKER has been wounded deeply by your tude.
JO: I don’t see anything wrong with his nose hair do you Blanche?
WALT: What about my nose hair.
This is the problem with gossip – buspirone dosage.Hurtful; buspirone dosage. Buspirone dosage: yup. Buspirone dosage: hurtful and wrong.
The best action a person can take in this situation is to announce,
“Phew.Look at the time.(Everyone looking in numerous directions for a clock that..does not exist.) Ruth needs to take her walk; buspirone dosage.Gotta run.” Just as I left the room I overheard Blanche buspirone dosage, Jo, Marion and all the rest chatter amongst themselves..
“She’s just adorable Ruth.”
“You’re so lucky.”
“Where did you find her?”
“Who was that?”
I most certainly was NOT going to wait around for the answers— when tomorrow is ANOTHER day.
Buspar
by Judith Drake
I have a tendency to throw things in piles when I get home, and then, eventually, sit down and go thru them.  Today it was the ‘Health’ pile, and I came across some interesting info in an article by Jeannine Stein in the L.A – buspar.Times last month about the benefits exercise can bestow on our minds.
Yes, that’s right…while we’re out walking or biking or aerobing, we not only keep our bodies bodiferous, we help our brains as well.
A physical change can instigate a mental change according to Gaetano Vaccaro, who meets with depressed patients at Moonview Sanctuary, a psychological treatment center.  “When you’re getting somebody to move…to change a pattern in their life…it can relate to a mood change…they start to see themselves as an active person…they change their perception.”
Several studies have cooperated this.  One, written about in a 2005 issue of American Journal of Preventive Medicine, examined how much cardio exercise was needed to see changes of mood in those with mild to moderate depressive disorder.  Divided into four groups that varied in number of calories burned and the frequency of activity, those in the group that exercised at moderate intensity 3 to 5 days a week for around 40 minutes (consistent with public health recommendations) showed the biggest decrease in depressive symptoms compared with those who just did stretching.
Scientists and doctors aren’t sure what changes happen in the brain..and why..when people exercise, but many believe that exercise increases levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter thought to be linked to mood regulation.  Dr; buspar.Andrew Leuchter, professor of psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Inst; buspar.for Neurosciences & Human Behaviour says “…even walking around the block might be good.”
So who knows?  If we set a goal to increase the number of steps we take each day by buspar, say, 1 or 2,000, not only might we see some good physical results, but it might make us feel a bit better about ourselves and have more self-confidence as well. - So here I go!  I’m adding 30 minutes of walking a day…i.e.2,970 steps (for females…2,730 for males).  I see a more cheerful me already!
